A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive email messages from friends or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox effortlessly in case you’ve got a hosting account with us. The Email Manager tool in our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-rich, yet very easy to work with, and it will allow you to enable different options, including the catch-all one, with only a couple of clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you’ve set up will be listed alphabetically in this section and to the right of each one you will find a small "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will activate the feature, clicking it for a second time will deactivate it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will notify you if you already have another one with this option enabled or if you’ve got active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to configure a catch-all mailbox without any difficulty even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you don’t want this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
